May 31, 2018 Dr. Fedrizzi-Williams selected as Central Penn's 10th President

Following a unanimous vote by the Central Penn College board of directors, Linda Fedrizzi-Williams, Ed.D., was named the 10th president of Central Penn College. She joined the college in July 2016 as provost/vice president of Academic Affairs and has been serving as interim co-president for the past nine months.

Throughout Dr. Fedrizzi-Williams’ 13 years of higher education experience, she has demonstrated a commitment to academic excellence, progressive administration-faculty partnerships and positive student outcomes.

“I am looking forward to leading Central Penn College and building on the school’s history of educating the future leaders of tomorrow,” said Fedrizzi-Williams.

In her former role as provost, Fedrizzi-Williams provided leadership for all operations at the college and oversaw a $19 million budget. She managed all instruction and student support, including program development, personnel decisions, budget and resource allocation, strategic planning, and assessment for Academic Affairs and Student Services.

She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York, in communication and organizational communication, respectively. She earned her doctorate in education from Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois.

“Dr. Fedrizzi-Williams has been an integral part of Central Penn College for the past two years, and we believe she is the best choice to lead the school in the upcoming years,” said Dr. Carol Wilson Spigner, chair, Central Penn College board of directors. “Her vision, her inclusive leadership style, and her sure-handed grasp of the challenges that the college faces in the immediate and long-term future all led to the board’s unanimous selection.”

“I plan to hit the ground running,” said Fedrizzi-Williams. “I believe Central Penn College has a great future providing the career-focused education that students in Pennsylvania and beyond are looking for.”

The announcement came after a nine-month national search that resulted in a diverse pool of highly competitive candidates. The search included college community feedback.

“After extensive interviews with the search committee and meetings with faculty, staff and students, it was quite apparent that Dr. Fedrizzi-Williams is an excellent fit for Central Penn,” says Spigner. “She has been doing a superior job as co-president. She has an in-depth understanding of Central Penn’s mission, and we believe she’ll be an incredible advocate for the college.”

Dr. Fedrizzi-Williams officially begins her duties as Central Penn College president on June 18.
