August 23, 2013 Dr. Glenn Zehner elected to foundation board

On Monday, Aug. 5, the Central Penn College Education Foundation welcomed its newest trustee, Dr. Glenn Zehner. Zehner is former superintendent of the East Pennsboro School District and retired executive director of the Capital Area Intermediate Unit in Enola, Pa. He is a part-time professor at Lebanon Valley College, an education consultant, and is on the board of the Capital Area School for the Arts Charter School. Zehner is a graduate of Lehigh University, where he received his Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration.

"A special ‘thank you’ to Dr. Zehner for his continued leadership and support of Central Penn College and its students," says Matt Lane, Central Penn College Education Foundation director. "In his new role on the education foundation’s board of trustees, he will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in higher education, strategic planning, organizational governance, and community relations and fundraising."

Zehner served on Central Penn College’s board of directors for more than a decade and was chair of the college’s board from 2008 to 2010. He stepped off Central Penn College’s board in 2012 and was a member of the recent search committee that selected the college’s ninth president, Dr. Karen M. Scolforo. Zehner served on the education foundation’s steering committee during its first Campaign for Scholarships (2004-2007).

Zehner and his wife, Marsha, are proud new grandparents and live in Camp Hill in East Pennsboro Township.
