Turning your associate degree into a bachelor’s degree has never been more accessible. The process of transferring credits from HACC to Central Penn College is quick and easy. Thanks to ongoing articulation agreements between our two schools, there is no guessing what credits will transfer, because we’ve done the work for you.

Central Penn's convenient, day, evening and online classes mean you can have the flexibility you need to complete the remaining 65 or 66 credits required to complete one of our bachelor’s degree programs. Our eleven-week, accelerated terms can help to get you out of the classroom and into the workplace even faster - students who stay on track can earn their bachelor's degree in as few as 15 months. Student and alumni individualized career guidance is provided to all Central Penn College graduates.

  • The Bachelor of Science in Health Science (BSHS) degree program is a transitional program which will qualify students for a graduate level healthcare education leading to employment in multiple healthcare fields that require advanced degrees including: Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist and Physician’s Assistant.
  • The Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management degree program will prepare students to meet the demands of an ever-changing healthcare system. Students will develop and enhance leadership skills, learn to understand and apply business concepts to the healthcare industry and apply critical thinking skills in order to make informed business decisions.
  • The Bachelor of Science in Radiology Sciences is targeted at medical imaging professionals credentialed and working in the field. It is a transitional program intended to give professionals the opportunity to earn business and management education and skills.

  • The RN to BSN degree program allows associate degree level RNs to obtain their baccalaureate, thus providing a higher level of patient care and positive customer outcomes. Additionally, the program will prepare students for entry into the graduate level of education should they desire to continue their education.

Health Science Bachelor's Degree Program

The program will help students develop and enhance leadership skills, learn how to communicate effectively with patients and fellow healthcare professionals, gain understanding into the psychological effects of disability and how to teach patients and caregivers to cope with those disabilities.

The academic rigor and the clinical experiences of our program are designed to prepare our graduates to be able to:

  • Teach patients, their family members and/or caregivers and other healthcare providers how to safely and effectively perform selected treatment procedures and functional activities. 
  • Evaluate and utilize techniques and skills for problem solving and decision making while practicing with a high standard of ethical behavior and sensitivity for cultural and socioeconomic differences among individuals.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the psychosocial effects of disability, whether temporary or permanent, and be able to provide appropriate support and respect for individual differences in coping with disability. 
  • Effectively communicate with all members of the healthcare team as well as patients and their families, using written, verbal and nonverbal skills. 
  • Enhance and develop leadership and healthcare knowledge through academic inquiry based on current, practical health care models.
  • Value and formulate plans for continuing personal and professional growth and development while serving as role models for other healthcare professionals. 
  • Obtain academic and/or career advancement through acceptance into a graduate degree program or position of management, administration, research or education in their chosen degree field. 

Tracks will include:

1. PTA bridge to BSHS – prepares students for application into a Doctorate in Physical Therapy Program.

 2. COTA bridge to BSHS – prepares students for application into a Masters/Doctorate in Occupational Therapy Program.

 3. MA bridge to BSHS – prepares students for entry in the medical field with advanced medical assisting skills recognized by the American Association of Medical Assisting and the Continuing Education Board.

 4. PA Preparatory – designed to prepare students for application into a Physician’s Assistant Program.

 5. Pre-Professional – designed to prepare students who wish to further their education with the prerequisites required for application into a master’s or doctoral level health specific program of their choice.    

Healthcare Management Bachelor's Degree Program

The program will prepare students for careers in management, administrative or educational positions within the industry. They will also be prepared to pursue higher academic goals through acceptance into a master’s degree program.

This program is designed to prepare our graduates to be able to:

  • Demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and oral, in a manner reflective of business and healthcare professionals.
  • Understand and apply business concepts to business models in general and how these models and concepts can be used to respond to the clinical, organizational and fiscal demands facing the ever changing healthcare industry.
  • Understand business and healthcare organizations as complex systems and the implications of workplace diversity, organizational change and corporate culture.
  • Identify appropriate resources and apply analytical reasoning/critical thinking skills in order to make informed business decisions.
  • Understand the role of effective leadership in driving organizational performance and change.
  • Obtain career and/or academic advancement into a management, administrative or educational position or acceptance into a graduate degree program. The Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management degree program will prepare students to meet the demands of an ever-changing healthcare system. Radiology Sciences Bachelor's Degree Program

The focus of this program will be to expand students' leadership skills to further their careers into supervisory positions. Students will also be able to pursue higher level imaging careers such as the Registered Radiology Assistant. In addition, the Bachelor of Science in Radiology Sciences degree will allow professionals to pursue positions in medical imaging education.

This program is designed to prepare graduates to be able to:

  • Use leadership principles to guide interaction with patients/clients, healthcare professionals and the public.
  • Be prepared for leadership roles and have the managerial skills necessary to direct services.
  • Increase knowledge of advanced imaging modalities.
  • Use critical thinking and problem based learning skills to resolve healthcare issues.
  • Practice a holistic and ethical approach to health care.
  • Value lifelong learning as a means of continuous professional development.

RN to BSN

The program will provide RNs already in the workforce with the skills necessary to enhance current employment by elevating the success of patient care.

Program Objectives:

  • Integrate knowledge, theories and ideas into culturally competent nursing practice.
  • Display leadership skills in meeting the challenges and changes within nursing practice.
  • Examine and apply appropriate nursing research theories in the evaluation and use of evidence-based practice in nursing.
  • Incorporate the safe use of appropriate patient care technology including the use of information management systems in documentation, communication and interdisciplinary care plan development.
  • Examine and evaluate current issues and trends in healthcare policies, financial strategies and regulations.
  • Incorporate the Pennsylvania Registered Nursing Law and Scope of Practice into daily professional nursing practice.
  • Demonstrate oral and written communication skills in all inter and intra-professional interactions and collaborative processes.
  • Examine and evaluate current prevention, health promotion and wellness programs and propose a quality improvement plan.
  • Model professional behavior in all interactions; develop self-awareness of moral, ethical and legal issues; and display cultural competence in nursing practice.
  • Demonstrate advanced level skills using critical thinking, selecting interventions and direct patient care skills across the lifespan.
  • Monitor patient status and identify any changes leading to the creation, implementation, evaluation and modification of the patient plan of care.
  • Select and utilize the appropriate procedures for any adverse event by continually monitoring and ensuring patient safety following all required protocols.

HACC Graduate Award

This award was established to assist HACC Graduates with their continuing education at Central Penn College.

Recipients are selected on the following criteria:

  • Student with unmet financial need.
  • Student must have a minimum GPA of 2.5.
  • Student MUST be a HACC Graduate.

HACC Graduate Student Scholarship*

The $500 HACC Graduate Student Scholarship is available to new students who have graduated with an associate degree from HACC and are transferring to Central Penn to further their education. This scholarship is divided over the first two terms of study at Central Penn. Official HACC transcripts must be provided with scholarship application.

Recipients are selected on the following criteria:

  • Must have graduated with an associate degree from HACC and provide official HACC transcripts.

*Please Note: All funds are limited. Scholarships may not be combined and are available to first-time students only. Students qualifying for more than one scholarship or grant will be awarded the highest scholarship only.
