Academic Bio

Nikki Marhefka, EdM, MT(ASCP), CMA(AAMA) is the Program Director of the Medical Assisting Program at Central Penn College in Summerdale. She has designed and taught all of the administrative and clinical courses for the on ground and hybrid programs at the college, and she coordinates the student practicums. She has been teaching in medical assisting programs for 20 years and has been a contributing author for medical laboratory textbooks.

Personal Bio

I volunteer preparing dinners at the Shalom House shelter, and include the Club M Ed members from the college. I enjoy reading and gardening, and am a fan of Pittsburgh sports teams.

Teaching Philosophy

I have great respect for the learner so I enjoy sharing the experience. I am here to set the scene for motivation for the student by showing the relevance of learning and using interesting hands-on, student-centered learning. I enjoy mentoring the students to improve study skills, to help them with time management skills and develop professional behaviors.
