Personal Bio

Hello, my name is Spencer Martin. I am the full-time professor of accounting and business at the Lancaster Center of Central Penn College. Many of you will have me for these classes and I look forward to getting to know you and help you reach your goals.

I am a Certified Public Accountant in PA. I have worked in public accounting and owned my own CPA firm for much of my career. I have been teaching college since 1995 at various institutions in central PA. My bachelor’s degree is from Penn State and my master’s degree is from Regent University.

An interesting fact about me is that my great-aunt graduated from Central Penn College in 1926.

In my spare time I like to read and target shoot.

Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy is to assist you to become successful in your chosen profession. I do this by utilizing various instructional methods to deliver quality coursework in various delivery formats.

I act as a facilitator in your learning journey. My learning activities in class are not only theoretical but practical in the “real world.” This is based on my thirty years of experience as a Certified Public Accountant and 15 years as an instructor. I will act as your supervisor, peer and mentor in the classroom guiding you toward success.

What I expect from you is a commitment to learn, apply what you learn, work as a team member and impart you knowledge to others as you grow in your field.
