Alumni Mentor Program

Student registration for the 2017 program has closed

The Alumni Mentor program provides an opportunity for students and alumni to connect in positive one-on-one mentoring relationships. The relationship can be as structured as you want, and the mentor and student decide how and when to communicate!

In a one-time mentoring session, students get the opportunity to gain knowledge and perspective of an industry, organization or culture, while getting constructive feedback on professional and personal development. At the same time, mentors serve as role models and coaches, transferring and sharing their experience and knowledge to the future workforce.

Alumni who wish to seek an alumni mentor in a specific field or area of interest are welcome to participate.

How is the program structured?

Mentors and mentees are paired together for a one-time mentoring session. If a mentor and mentee enjoy their session, they are welcome to continue their mentor-student relationship based on both parties' interests, schedules and availability. Once we have a large pool of mentors and students, pairing will take place in February.

Do mentors need to be local to the Harrisburg area? Can I be an e-mentor?

Alumni outside of central Pennsylvania can participate in the e-mentoring program. A mentoring session via email, phone call, Skype, etc., can be just as effective and productive as talking with your mentor in person. Click here for a list of e-mentoring tips.
