THIS CHANGE DOES NOT TAKE EFFECT UNTIL APril 3, 2017!

The Central Penn College Information Technology department will be providing Single-Sign On (SSO) and Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) capabilities to all Students, Staff, and Faculty to all computers and web-enabled applications starting April 3rd, 2017.  No matter where you are or what Central Penn College application you are accessing you will now use the same account and password.  You will also be able to reset your own password by either answering security questions or one-time password authentication.

SUMMARY STUDENTS

WHAT WILL HAPPEN ON APRIL 3, 2017?

All Central Penn College computers and applications will authenticate through the new My Central Penn SSO portal, https://my.centralpenn.edu.  You will be required to setup your account and enroll in the portal in order to access any Central Penn College computer or application.

With this consolidation of accounts comes the responsibility of securing your account; so all students will be required to change their password every 180 days.

WHAT COMPUTERS AND APPLICATIONS WILL THIS AFFECT?

  • All campus computers
  • BlackBoard
  • My Mail Email
  • Existing My.CentralPenn Portal, now Student Portal
  • Existing My.CentralPenn My Forms, now Student Portal My Forms
  • CashNET 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED ON APRIL 3, 2017 OR THEREAFTER TO SETUP YOUR ACCOUNT?

You will need your current Central Penn MyMail email address, First Name, Last Name, Student Number, Date of Birth, and Last 4 digits of your Social Security Number to setup your account. 

Optionally you will need a cell phone or alternate email address (other than your MyMail address) to receive one-time passwords for password recovery. 

HOW DO I SETUP MY ACCOUNT AND ENROLL ON APRIL 3RD, 2017 OR THEREAFTER?

Navigate to https://my.centralpenn.edu on any internet connected device and click “Forgot Password?”.  Follow the on-screen instructions to provide your information required to setup your account and set your password.  After setting your account up follow the on-screen instructions for optionally  enrolling in one-time password capabilities from your phone or other email address (Highly Recommended)

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF THESE CHANGES?

There are many benefits to using a SSO and SSPR solution as a college both from a user’s perspective and from the college’s perspective, but below are some of the most visible benefits that you will notice:

  • One password for all college computers and applications, no more remembering 5 to 6 passwords
  • One time login through the new My Central Penn SSO portal, once you login you do not have to login again for a different resource in the same session
  • You will be able to reset your own password by answering security questions that both you and the school know about you
  • You will be able to reset your own password by sending a one-time password to your cell phone
  • You will be able to reset your own password by sending a one-time password to another verified email address
  • You will receive password expiration reminders via email

HOW DO I SETUP MY ACCOUNT AND ENROLL ON APRIL 3RD, 2017 OR THEREAFTER?
