The Charles “T” Jones Leadership Library
The Charles “T” Jones Leadership Library is an integral part of the Summerdale campus. The Library provides a place to study and offers a variety of educational resources to enhance and support the college experience and is named for its benefactor – Charles “Tremendous” Jones. Jones was an area businessman (the owner of Executive Books in Mechanicsburg, Pa.), a noted inspirational speaker and a life-long bibliophile.

Video Online Database
A collection of over 60,000 streaming videos in a wide variety of academic areas. Searchable transcripts accompany each video. Index terms are assigned to each video to aid in searching. The platform offers the ability to create playlists, create video clips, permalink to videos, and embed videos in course management systems.

Criminal Justice Abstracts with Full Text™ contains more than 400,000 records selected from the most important sources within the discipline. Circulation
To borrow anything from the Charles “T.” Jones Leadership Library you must have a valid Central Penn ID and an account in good standing. All current Central Penn students, faculty, and staff may check out items and access our online resources on or off-campus. Alumni may check items out of the circulating collection with a valid state ID and have walk-in access to most of our online resources.
Borrowing Items
All items circulate for the length of the term except items in the Reference and Reserve collections. Available items include Books, DVDs, Laptops, Video Games, Board Games, Puzzles, and Flash Cards. Reference books are for library use only and may not be checked out. Reserve items may be checked out for two hours for use in the library. The reserve collection contains some of the required books for classes that are currently running, and headphones. Obtain reserve items from the circulation desk, your ID will be held until items are returned. With the exception of Reserve items, you may request that something be held for you by contacting the library. The Library will notify you through your Central Penn email when requested items become available.
RENEWING ITEMS
Items can be renewed if there are no previous requests for them. Items that have been requested will have holds on them, and this can be seen in the item’s record in the catalog. Renew items by contacting the library. All items are due at the end of term.
OVERDUE/LOST MATERIALS
A courtesy notice is emailed to Central Penn email addresses before items are due. Contact the library to see if extending borrowing time is possible. Items should be returned to the library before their due date to avoid holds and overdue fees. If items are not returned, two overdue notices will be sent to Central Penn College email addresses, after which charges will be added to accounts for replacing the item(s) + a $30 processing fee. The loss of any material should be reported immediately. Equipment (such as laptops) accrue fines at $2.00 per day. Fines will begin to accrue the day after the item is due.
TRACKING YOUR BORROWING
The library system will send a courtesy notice to your Central Penn email address reminding you of items checked out a few days before they are due. You can keep track of the books that you have borrowed and their due dates by logging into your account from the online library catalog.
NOISE
In order to provide a welcome area for studying we ask that you not disturb the people around you. That means keeping your voice low, using headphones when listening to music or watching videos, turning your phone notifications & ringtones to silent, and taking phone calls outside or in the vestibule of the library.
FOOD & DRINK
Food and drink are allowed in the library within reasonable limits. To ensure the safety of books, computers, and furniture we ask that you sit at a table and keep a distance from library materials while eating. Please wash your hands and clean up your space when you are done. Keep drinks away from the computer stations to avoid accidental spills.

Interlibrary Loan
Books and articles not found in our collection can be borrowed from other PA libraries through Access PA. Email library@centralpenn.edu to make a request. The loan period and fees for items requested from other libraries are determined by the lending library. The due date will be circled on the paperwork included with the item when you pick it up. Failure to return items in a timely manner will result in a hold on your account as soon as it becomes overdue. The Library will contact you when the requested items are available. Normal delivery time for physical materials is 7 to 14 days. Electronic article requests are normally processed within 2 business days.

Research and information literacy sessions can be requested from the library.
Materials on Reserve
Some of the required textbooks are on reserve at the circulation desk’s reserve shelf. Students must have their ID cards in order to check out these items. Reserve items may be checked out for two hours and are for library use only-they do not circulate outside the library.
Equipment
The library has a color copier available for use. Students and college employees can use the copier for free. Members of the public can make copies for $0.25 per printed page. There are 15 hard-wired computer stations and free wi-fi. Laptops, an iPad, and a projector are available to be checked out.
