Full-Time Faculty: Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education, Nursing

The Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education (ACCE) supports continuing development of the Nursing Program, teaches assigned courses, and ensures the delivery of the highest quality post-secondary education to the Central Penn Nursing students. The ACCE arranges for, and oversees, the completion of the clinical internship experiences, supervises practicum experiences, and evaluates each clinical site to ensure that it is providing the proper educational experiences for the students.

Under the direction of the Program Director, the ACCE will facilitate a residential BSN program and an RN to BSN Program. Candidate will be responsible for the establishment and continued development of the clinical sites, including maintaining affiliation agreements, clinical site requirements and all associated documentation. The ACCE will implement strategies to promote the recruitment, advising and retention of students, course scheduling and oversight of clinical placements, while achieving College and departmental goals and outcomes.

The three key areas of responsibility include: oversight of the clinical practicum and internship program quality and maintaining compliance with accreditation standards and Pennsylvania State Nursing Regulations; providing guidance to full-time and part-time faculty teaching within the program; and ensuring participation in College initiatives and compliance with College policies and practices. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Curriculum development, working collaboratively with members of the larger College community and regulatory and accrediting agencies to determine course offerings, complying with requirements for curriculum, faculty and students.
  • Ensuring clinical experiences meet accreditation standards and are in sequence for students to fulfill BSN requirements.
  • Teach/manage assigned courses.
  • Oversee internships and capstones with visits to sites as needed.
  • Actively participate in continuing education seminars and programs and maintain a current, active, unencumbered Commonwealth of Pennsylvania RN license.
  • Active participation in the Central Penn College Faculty Senate with membership on at least one standing Faculty Senate Committee.
  • Attend at minimum one technology training per year to stay up-to-date with technology usage in the classroom. 
  • Provide academic guidance and advising to students regarding careers.
  • Participate in admissions and marketing activities relative to the program. 
  • Ensure students are securing internships and employment in the field through utilization of networking opportunities, advisory board and community outreach.
  • Represent the Department through participation in the activities of professional and civic organizations and foster relationships that open doors for internships and employment.

Essential Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Master’s Degree in nursing from a regionally accredited institution is required; willingness to complete a doctorate degree in five years 
  • Five years of clinical experience in nursing with a current unencumbered Commonwealth of Pennsylvania RN license 
  • Two years teaching experience academic or clinical education, preferably in a postsecondary nursing program
  • Experience with maintenance of academic programs in accordance with curriculum standards

Full-Time Faculty: Nursing – Summerdale

A full-time Nursing Faculty member assists the Nursing Program Director/Chair and Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education (ACCE) with the development of the Nursing program, teaches assigned courses to traditional daytime students and continuing education students in both on-ground and online formats, ensuring delivery of the highest quality post-secondary education and services to Central Penn Nursing students. The faculty member may also serve as a laboratory assistant for courses within the Nursing core courses. Full-time Nursing Faculty will teach both didactic and clinical portions of assigned courses and will supervise any additional Clinical Instructors/Faculty Assistants required to maintain the clinical student to faculty ratio of not more than 10 students to one faculty, while achieving College and departmental goals and outcomes.

The three key areas of responsibility include: oversight of the didactic and clinical education for assigned courses; maintaining compliance with accreditation standards and Pennsylvania State Nursing Regulations; and ensuring participation in College initiatives and compliance with College policies and practices.

  • Possess an unencumbered Registered Nurse License in the State of Pennsylvania

Part-Time Faculty: Clinical Instructor – Nursing - Summerdale

The Clinical Instructor/Assistant Faculty supports continuing development of the Nursing Program, teaches assigned courses, and ensures the delivery of the highest quality post-secondary education to the Central Penn Nursing students. The Clinical Instructor will provide clinical education in a specified area of expertise in collaboration with the faculty member responsible for providing didactic instruction.

Under the direction of the didactic faculty, the Clinical Instructor/Assistant Faculty will oversee the clinical instruction of no more than 10 students in the assigned clinical facility, while achieving College and departmental goals and outcomes.

  • 1-3 years of progressive teaching experience in an educational environment
  • Unencumbered Registered Nurse License in the state of Pennsylvania

Central Penn seeks part-time faculty positions to teach general Information Technology courses. We are looking for instructors to teach during the day at the Summerdale campus.

Our curriculum provides a diverse learning experience for our students and includes courses in programming, networking, security and databases.

Part-Time Faculty: Occupational Therapy Assistant, Summerdale

Central Penn College is in search of Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) Adjunct Faculty to join our OTA program. 

In coordination with the OTA Program Director, the OTA Adjunct Faculty is responsible for:

  • Developing and teaching courses as part of a high quality academic program that imbues students with positive personal attributes and prepares them for professional success.
  • Attending monthly staff meetings to ensure that appropriate standards are being met across all students
  • Providing expertise in: Mental Health/Mental Illness, Physical Dysfunction, Therapeutic Techniques, Anatomy and Physiology, Human Development, Medical Terminology and/or Abnormal Psychology.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor’s or higher level degree and certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant or a registered Occupational Therapist.
  • Understanding of and compliance to standards of Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE).
  • Experience in education and knowledge of evolving education/fieldwork needs, programming trends and teaching methods.
  • Experience employing technology in the classroom. The ability to use online teaching and learning platforms, and the ability to effectively use technology in the everyday work environment.

  • Availability to teach during day time hours 2-4 days per week.  Scheduling of classes can be flexible but it is a day program.

Full-Time Staff: Administrative Assistant to the Provost, Summerdale

Central Penn College is in search of an experienced administrative assistant to support the Vice President of Academics/Provost and the Academic Affairs office.

This position is responsible for managing the administrative support activities of the office and supporting the VP, Deans, Directors and Program Chairs. Much of the work involves confidential matters of the College and requires the highest degree of discretion.  Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as initial point of contact for internal and external constituents including “prepping” for meetings and other contacts; calendar management; participation in regularly scheduled meetings with senior staff; preparation of reports, briefing, presentations and other items as directed; and all areas of logistical planning and support for meetings and conferences.
  • Create, maintain, and utilize databases to gather needed data from all educational venues and offsite locations.
  • Coordinate the annual production and distribution of the College catalog.
  • Coordinate submission of new program proposals and annual reports to the PA Department of Education, keeping a log to track all communiqués.
  • Coordinate correspondence including proofreading and editing of academic reports prior to submission to accrediting bodies including but not limited to Middle States Commission on Higher Education, ACOTE and ABA, keeping a log to track all communiqués.
  • Coordinate and process quarterly contracts (both new and renewal) for part-time faculty. 

This position requires general and business knowledge equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree with three or more years of related administrative support and secretarial services experience working with senior level executives.  Previous experience in a higher education setting is preferred.  Proficiency in office related software packages including Word, Excel and Access is required as are professional writing and proofreading skills.  Strong communication, interpersonal, and organization skills are essential.  Must be able to manage multiple tasks, re-prioritize quickly, work well with a variety of personalities, and maintain an organized and professional office atmosphere.  Respect for confidentiality is essential.

Full-Time Staff: Counselor, Summerdale

Central Penn College is in search of a mental health counselor to provide counseling services, workshops and programming to its students.

Under the supervision of the Dean of Students, this position will provide support to students through counseling, case management, programming and crisis intervention.  The Counselor helps Central Penn achieve its mission by supporting students in their goal of attaining a degree.     

Responsibilities include:

  • Provides counseling support services to the students while working broadly with members of the college community.
  • Provides intake assessments, individual and group counseling and crisis intervention.
  • Works collaboratively within the Student Services department and others at the College to foster a holistic model of wellness.
  • Represents the Counseling department on College committees, projects and initiatives.
  • Provides leadership in the coordination of case management and crisis intervention.
  • Provides consultation and makes recommendations to the Dean of Students, Public Safety, Student Alert Team and other College committees and employees as appropriate on mental health and substance abuse issues.
  • Assists in the development of effective policies, protocols, processes and structures to ensure the health, safety and welfare of students.
  • Develops relationships with community agencies and off campus practitioners to create an off-campus referral network.
  • Assists with training of staff and faculty members along with the development of peer education programs.
  • Establishes crisis communications and provides crisis emergency evaluations and interventions.
  • Develops and maintains a manual and web resources documenting policies and procedures for counseling students.
  • Analyzes counseling needs and field related trends.
  • Makes recommendations to improve the counseling services for students.   

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or related field with 2-5 years of related experience in mental health counseling.
  • Demonstrated skills in individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, consultation, assessment, consultation, and outreach.
  • Detailed knowledge of developmental issues and problems typically encountered by college students.
  • Demonstrated skills in supervision and training when applicable.

Central Penn College seeks an experienced Employment Specialist to join the Human Resources team.

The Employment Specialist will be primarily responsible for recruiting, onboarding, developing orientation and other training programs and processing HR transactions.  The incumbent will partner with faculty and staff leaders to guide them through the recruiting process of adjunct faculty, full-time faculty, as well as exempt and non-exempt staff recruitment.  This includes development of recruiting strategy, writing job advertisements, screening and interviewing, background and reference checking, offer negotiation, and on-boarding.  The position will be instrumental in orienting new employees to the College and will assist in developing and delivering training and orientation.  Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, writing job descriptions, conducting exit interviews, supporting training and professional development initiatives and processing personnel actions. 

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or related area of study; a minimum of 2 years of human resources experience with emphasis on recruitment, onboarding, and training; working knowledge of current federal and state employment laws and regulations; and experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and HRIS systems.  Additionally, this position requires strong verbal and written communication, and listening skills.  Organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, small team environment are essential. Full-Time Staff: Enrollment Event Coordinator, Summerdale

Central Penn College is seeking an Enrollment Event Coordinator to work in our Summerdale location. This position is part of the Admissions Department, but will work closely with Marketing Services team to inspire and motivate students to attend Central Penn.

Duties include:

  • Development of strategies and presentations to stimulate interest in Central Penn’s unique culture and professional approach to the academic environment and student life
  • Facilitation of events on and off campus, including but not limited to overnight and open house enrollment events
  • Work with Marketing Services department to create necessary publications, invitations, web pages and email communications regarding coordinated events.
  • Oversee necessary communications with event attendees to include reminder notifications and post-event follow up.
  • Engage faculty in order to incorporate unique features of their programs into planning
  • Conduct presentations to large groups at campus events
  • Analyze data from each event to determine event effectiveness with regard to rate of attendance and achievement of defined event goal
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase event quality effectiveness
  • Hire, train and manage all part-time student event employees and oversee all job assignments and quality assurance checks
  • Coordinate and oversee the student ambassadors - to include regular tour training

Full-Time Staff: Nursing Program Director, Summerdale

The Nursing Program Director will facilitate the development, implementation and assessment of the College’s new BSN program.  This includes responsibility for promotion of and daily operations of the baccalaureate pre-licensure nursing program in accordance with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, State Board of Nursing regulations and the Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education standards. The position will also provide academic and administrative leadership for the RN to BSN program.   

The Director is responsible for:

  • Curriculum development working collaboratively with members of the larger College community and regulatory and accrediting agencies, to determine course offerings.
  • Ensuring courses meet progression and are in sequence in order for students to fulfill BSN requirements and financial aid requirements.
  • Oversight of curriculum and ongoing evaluation of students, faculty, and overall program. 
  • Coordinating admission process and determining student candidacy and admission to the program.
  • Interviewing RN to BSN applicants for admission into the program.
  • Recruiting and retaining qualified faculty for the program. 
  • Establishing partnerships with clinical agencies for student internships. Conduct periodic clinical site visits, ensuring adherence to program standards and student health and safety at clinical sites.
  • Responsible for compiling and submitting external program accreditation reports as required.
  • Developing and teaching one or more courses per term as required.  
  • Supervising full and part time program faculty including evaluation and holding them accountable for teaching excellence.

Qualifications: 

  • Earned Doctorate in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 5 years teaching experience in baccalaureate nursing education.

Central Penn College is seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our Summerdale team. This position will provide the college with front desk and reception duties, in addition to completing daily administrative tasks and data entry into our student tracking database.

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Enrollment Management, this position additionally supports the VPEM office with administrative functions and scheduling.

Requirements include two years of administrative office experience, proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel, and exceptional customer service and telephone skills.  This position also requires organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Experience in higher education and an Associate’s degree are preferred.

Central Penn College invites applications for the position of Vice President of Academics.  The Vice President of Academics is a senior level executive position reporting directly to the President. 

The Vice President of Academics position serves as the Chief Academic Officer for the College, providing strategic and operational leadership as well as oversight for all academic affairs functions supporting academic programs, services and student success initiatives.  These functions include all academic programs of study, continuing education operations, academic/student support services, and instructional technology.  The Vice President of Academics assures a strong academic team through effective leadership, mentoring, advocating professional development and fostering an environment of accountability.  The Vice President of Academics is the face of the College in efforts related to institutional accreditation and accreditation/program reviews of specific academic programs.

Full-Time Staff: Web Content Specialist

Central Penn College is seeking an energetic, team player to provide editorial and design leadership for the developing and technical maintenance of the College’s web site and social media strategies. This includes writing and editing for the web, identification of site enhancement needs and coordination of enhancements with appropriate individuals/departments, as well as coordinating a social media strategy in support of all key messaging across various social media sites. 

The ideal candidate will have the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or a closely-related field and a minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience.
  • Excellent communications skills, including writing and editing for the web.
  • Ability to coordinate and meet multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to problem solve, plan and make independent decisions.
  • Responsible, organized, creative and shows attention to detail. Meets deadlines.
  • Comfortable in a small, growing and rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent people skills – personable, positive, able to deal with challenges and issues.
  • Demonstrated experience with information architecture, modern HTML techniques, JavaScript, CSS, and emerging web technologies.
  • Familiarity with online social networking, search tools and general Web 2.0 (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc).
  • Experience in higher education a plus.

Part-Time Staff: Head Women's Basketball Coach (2015 - 2016 Season)

Central Penn College, a regionally accredited four year degree granting institution with numerous career-oriented programs is seeking candidates for a Head Women’s Basketball Coaching position. This position is for an anticipated opening for the 2015 - 2016 basketball season. Central Penn College is a member of the USCAA and competes on a national level for small colleges.

Previous college or high school coaching experience required. Previous college basketball playing experience recommended. Also strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required. The Head Coach is responsible for the oversight and development of the women’s basketball program.
