Full-Time Staff: Admissions Counselor, Continuing Education - Lancaster

Do you enjoy speaking with a variety of people? Are you able to paint a picture with words alone? Do your friends describe you as persistent, yet friendly? Can you juggle multiple tasks and remain organized? If so, then Central Penn College is looking for you to join our Admissions team as a full time Counselor. Positions are available at our Lancaster location.

An Admissions Counselor is responsible for contributing to Central Penn College’s approach of providing an education that eliminates boundaries, opens new horizons, and turns potential into career success.

Duties include:

  • Knowledge of Central Penn College programs, features, locations – with the ability to clearly communicate information in a professional and consistent manner
  • Respond to inquiries from prospective students within 24 hours
  • Interact with and assist potential students through the enrollment process, including responding by phone and email to student inquiries, scheduling and conducting admissions interviews, and communicating with the enrolled student prior to the term start as well as throughout the first term. 
  • Maintain appropriate documentation regarding student contact in admissions software programs.
  • Attend on-campus and off campus events, including networking and open house enrollment events. 
  • Interact with the College’s personnel, (i.e., faculty, Deans, support staff, administrative staff) as required
  • Evening hours and a Saturday rotation required

Ideal candidate will possess:

  • Background in college recruitment and enrollment, specifically non-traditional and adult education programs
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain organized electronic and paper files 
  • Ability to think, plan and execute strategically. 
  • A sales or marketing background is preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong customer service orientation

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred
  • 2-3 years of progressive experience in a business environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong computer skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects in a fast paced environment
  • Willingness to work evening hours and travel on occasion.

Full-Time Staff: Customer Service Assistant - Lehigh Valley

Central Penn College is seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our Lehigh Valley team. This position will provide the college with front desk and reception duties in addition to completing daily administrative tasks and data entry into our student tracking database.

The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, possess great organizational and telephone skills and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment. This part time position requires flexible hours and a preferred experience in higher education. An Associate’s degree in business or related field is also preferred. The Financial Planning Coordinator provides financial aid information and counseling to prospective adult students on financial aid opportunities and the requirements for qualification. This position provides the following support to the continuing education enrollment team:

  • Advises prospective adult students on financial aid opportunities and the requirements for qualification
  • Educates students on completion and filing financial aid applications
  • Coordinates processing of financial aid which allows students to register for classes including collection of all financial aid documents required for Federal financial aid processing
  • Administration of financial aid funds including publicizing availability of scholarships
  • Monitors performance of recipients for continuing award/support eligibility

Part-Time Staff: Librarian, Summerdale

The Charles “T.” Jones Leadership Library at Central Penn College is inviting applications for a part-time librarian.  The position covers two nights a week from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and every third Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

 Primary duties include:

  • Supervising student workers
  • Providing reference and instruction, live and online
  • Processing of serials and inter-library loans

 Position Requirements:

  • Masters of Library Science (MLS) or Masters of Library and Information Science (MLIS) from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited institution preferred
  • Candidates near completing such degree programs will be considered
  • Some experience supervising other people
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Full-Time Faculty: OTA Fieldwork Coordinator, Summerdale

Central Penn College is in search of an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) Fieldwork Coordinator to join our OTA program faculty. 

 In coordination with the OTA Program Director, the OTA Fieldwork Coordinator is responsible for:

  • Providing overall coordination and continually developing the Occupational Therapy Assistant program’s Fieldwork Level I and II education.
  • Ensuring the Fieldwork program reflects the sequence, depth, focus, and scope of content in the curriculum design.
  • Collaborating with faculty to design fieldwork experiences that enhance the ties between didactic and fieldwork education.
  • Maintaining compliance with ACOTE accreditation standards and implementing AOTA guidelines for fieldwork education.
  • Securing an appropriate number of fieldwork sites to meet the needs of the students enrolled in the OTA program, in settings that are equipped to meet the curriculum goals, provide educational experiences applicable to the academic program, and have clinical educators who are able to effectively meet the learning needs of the students.
  • Developing and teaching courses as part of a high quality academic program that imbues students with positive personal attributes and prepares them for professional success.

 The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor’s or higher level degree and certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant or a registered Occupational Therapist.
  • Understanding of and compliance to standards of Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE).
  • Experience in education and knowledge of evolving education/fieldwork needs, programming trends and teaching methods.
  • Experience employing technology in the classroom. The ability to use online teaching and learning platforms, and the ability to effectively use technology in the everyday work environment.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with the students, faculty and College academic leaders.
