At Central Penn College, our Bachelor of Science degree in Homeland Security Management (HSM) program combines elements of law enforcement, infrastructure security, organizational behavior, emergency management, leadership and intelligence analysis – providing students with a broad understanding of these fields and their interaction with Homeland Security. Students are provided with the opportunity to immerse themselves in real-world hands-on learning from professors with experience at the federal, state and local law enforcement levels.
Through interactive lessons, field trips and a collaborative learning environment, students gain a thorough understanding of relevant bodies of law, critical incident response, police-community relations, and how private and public entities interact and prepare for emergencies and related crisis events. Students will also learn how communicate effectively through written and oral communication, correlating these concepts effectively within diverse work environments. Professional and ethical conduct is a key part of the program’s philosophy.

Due to the sensitive nature of this field, only students who are capable of passing a governmental background investigation and obtain a governmental security clearance should consider enrolling in the Homeland Security Management degree program.
