A Message from the Vice President of Enrollment: Traditional Students
Thank you for choosing Central Penn College (CPC) as the institution to pursue your education. Our faculty and staff are looking forward to having you begin your educational journey with us this summer.
These are challenging times. And while the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has impacted normal, everyday life, we know that the Central Penn community is a strong, resilient community. Our students have already overcome many challenges to get where they are, and we as a community will pull together to overcome the challenges that lie ahead.
As always, our top priority is the safety and well-being of our students, faculty, staff and the greater campus community. Central Penn College’s leadership team is closely monitoring the latest information related to COVID-19.
For the summer term starting on July 6, the college has made the decision to move all classes and exams to an online format. In addition, all residential housing will continue to be closed and cleaned for when we are allowed to reopen our campus. If during the summer term the Governor moves Cumberland County to the Green Phase, all classes would still be conducted online, except for those Health Sciences classes with labs and clinical competencies.
As a result of the summer term being conducted online, the college has made the decision to reduce by half the $310 “technology” fee, which encompasses not only technology use, but also student activities, supplies, transportation to events, etc.
As of now, the move in date for new residential students for the summer term is still under review if the Governor moves Cumberland County to the Green Phase. If we are unable to move students on campus during the summer term, new students will have the term of free housing they would have received in summer extended for an additional term in 2021.
Orientation for all students taking daytime classes will be hosted virtually and login information will be sent to your school email. Please note, if there are any changes regarding residential housing opening in the Green Phase, orientation or in-person classes, you will be notified by your admissions counselor immediately, followed up with an email from the office of enrollment management detailing next steps.
I also encourage you to visit www.centralpenn.edu/covid, for the latest Central Penn College information on COVID-19.
Even though the campus is currently closed, the college is OPEN. We are operating virtually, and our team is available to assist you in any way possible. Please reach out to your admissions counselor if you have any questions.
The entire team at Central Penn College is looking forward to you joining the CPC family.
With warm regards,
Stacey L. Obi, EdD, MS.EdL.
