Central Penn College Joins with State Leaders to Offer Scholarships to Commonwealth Employees

Central Penn College is collaborating with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to offer $1,000 scholarships to state employees, expanding accessibility and affordability for workers who plan to pursue business, health care and other career-relevant training at Central Penn College in Summerdale, Cumberland County.
By incentivizing continuing education for the Commonwealth workforce at the undergraduate, graduate and certificate levels, the collaboration invests in service-minded workers and lifelong learning designed to enhance public service statewide. Central Penn College will award a one-time $1,000 scholarship to eligible Commonwealth employees, to be disbursed over their first three academic terms of study. The college offers in-person, online, and hybrid programs, with the academic terms lasting eleven weeks.
“These scholarships will support Commonwealth employees in the pursuit of higher education and underscore our commitment to fostering a strong, competitive workforce to serve the people of Pennsylvania,” said Secretary Neil Weaver. “We’re pleased to collaborate with Pennsylvania’s higher ed community to offer these opportunities for our employees to further their learning and careers, and we’re pleased that Central Penn College has joined the growing list of participating schools.”
“This collaboration represents a golden opportunity for Commonwealth workers and is a forward-thinking investment in Pennsylvania’s workforce, economy and performance,” said Dr. Linda Fedrizzi-Williams, President of Central Penn College. “Located only six miles from the state Capitol Complex, we have had the pleasure to serve countless Commonwealth employees over our 144-year history, and we welcome this window of opportunity to serve even more. With our proven track record of academic and professional excellence, which seamlessly expands and updates the skills of our valued students, we are pleased to join with state leaders to offer this helping hand to the workforce of today and tomorrow.”
Founded in 1881, Central Penn College has built a reputation for high-quality, career-focused business and healthcare education, honing both the technical and soft skills of lifelong learners. From education in management and organizational leadership to communications and more, Central Penn has successfully changed with the times to meet the evolving needs of a dynamic and diverse workforce, Dr. Fedrizzi emphasized.
