Central Penn College awards more than $1 million in scholarships annually!
Scholarships are available to students that meet the specific requirements of our numerous scholarships. Central Penn offers many scholarships to both new and current students.
Scholarships for Incoming High School Students
2024 HOUSING SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship provides up to $11,616 of support to make learning AND living at Central Penn College more affordable. The housing scholarship includes the FULL housing costs ($1,452 per term or cost of your housing) for eight (8) consecutive terms. You are still responsible for utilities ($330) and any meal plan you elect to receive, which ranges from $484 to $1,500 per term.

High school graduates from Adams, Dauphin, Cumberland, Perry, Lancaster, Lebanon and York counties with a GPA of 2.5 or higher, may qualify for the Regional Scholarship. Scholarship recipients will be awarded $3,000 to be divided over their first three terms.
- Must be a 2023 or 2024 high school graduate starting either the Summer or Fall 2024 academic term
- Must be a resident of Adams, Dauphin, Cumberland, Perry, Lancaster, Lebanon or York counties.

KEYSTONE SCHOLARSHIP
Each year Central Penn College is highlighting a county in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for students to apply for a multiyear scholarship. This year, our county is Berks County. High school graduates from Berks County with a GPA of 2.0 or higher, may qualify for the Keystone Scholarship. Scholarship recipients will be awarded $1,000 a year for up to 3 years (or maximum 9 terms). Up to 15 students will be awarded this scholarship.
- 2023 or 2024 high school graduates beginning class in the Summer or Fall 2024 academic term
- Must be a resident of Berks County
- Must enroll as a full-time/degree-seeking student
- Must be continuously enrolled
- Must have a high school cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
- Must maintain a 2.0 GPA

ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP
The Academic Scholarship is available to students who demonstrated academic excellence throughout their four years of high school. Students who receive this scholarship will receive a $1,000 a term for their entire education (6 terms for an associate’s degree, 10 terms for a bachelor’s degree). Up to five students are awarded the Academic Scholarship annually. While receiving the scholarship, students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- Must be a 2024 high school graduate starting either the Summer or Fall 2024 academic term
- Must enroll as a full-time/degree-seeking student
- Must be continuously enrolled
- Must have a high school cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher
- Must maintain a 3.5 GPA
- College must receive completed 500-word essay application
- Write your speech if you were valedictorian of your graduating class.
OPPORTUNITY SCHOLARSHIP
The Opportunity Scholarship is available to students who demonstrate a strong desire to continue their education. Scholarship recipients will be awarded $500 a term up to 10 terms. Up to 10 students are awarded the Opportunity Scholarship annually.
- Must be a 2024 high school graduate starting either the Summer or Fall 2024 academic term
- Must enroll as a full-time/degree-seeking student
- Must have a 2.8 or higher high school cumulative GPA
- Must maintain a 2.5 GPA
- Must be continuously enrolled
- College must receive completed “Who has inspired you the most and why?” 500-word essay application.
PRIVATE SCHOLARSHIP MATCHING
The Private Scholarship Matching Program is available to students who have been awarded an outside scholarship (scholarship funds awarded to a student through an agency or other source outside of Central Penn College to be used toward Central Penn College tuition). Scholarship recipients will be awarded matching funds up to $1,000. Private Scholarship Matching Program funds are awarded to all qualifying student applicants.

- Must submit outside scholarship award letter to Central Penn one week prior to enrollment
OUT OF STATE SCHOLARSHIP
The Pennsylvania Grant Match for out-of-state students is awarded to students who meet the Central Penn GPA and Student Aid Index requirement of the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency but are not Pennsylvania residents. The recipients will be awarded an amount as determined by the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency. Up to 10 students will receive this scholarship.
- Must be a 2024 high school graduate and enroll in the Summer or Fall 2024 term
- Must live on campus
- Must have completed a 2024-2025 FAFSA, have a completed financial aid package.
- Must have a high school GPA of 2.8 or higher
- Must maintain 2.8 GPA
- Must have continuous enrollment
FBLA / DECA SCHOLARSHIP
The FBLA/DECA Scholarship is available to student members of the FBLA club. Scholarship recipients will be awarded $1,000 to be divided over their first three terms of tuition. The FBLA/DECA Scholarship is awarded to all qualifying student applicants.
- Must be a 2024 high school graduate and enroll at Central Penn for either the Summer or Fall 2024 academic term
- Must enroll as a full-time/degree-seeking student
- Must be an active member in FBLA/DECA during high school senior year
- Must have FBLA/DECA advisor information on application
- Must have a high school GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Must be continuously enrolled
- College must receive a completed application and essay describe a project you completed while you were in FBLA and what that project helped you learn about yourself.
EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP
The Excellence Scholarship is awarded to students accepted to Central Penn who have a 3.5 GPA or above. Scholarship recipients are awarded $2,000 to be used toward their first six terms.

MCINROY-SHEFFER PEOPLE TRUST SCHOLARSHIP
The McInroy-Sheffer People Trust scholarship has an April 1 deadline and is for students who are incoming freshmen for the upcoming school year from Cumberland, Dauphin, Lycoming, Tioga, or York counties, attending Central Penn. Qualifying majors are Business Administration, Corporate Communications, Communications, and Entrepreneurship in Small Business.

The Legacy Scholarship is available to full-time student applicants who are siblings, children or grandchildren of a Central Penn graduate. Scholarship recipients will be awarded $1,500 to be divided over their first three terms. The Legacy Scholarship is awarded to all qualifying student applicants.

Vision Benefits of America Opportunity Scholarship
$1,000 scholarship opportunity provided by Vision Benefits of America to foster and preserve human eyesight in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania by providing financial assistance for students in the form of scholarships to be used for Central Penn College’s Optometric Technician Certificate program.
- The scholarship is divided across 3 terms
- The student is a Pennsylvania resident
- The student plans to work in Pennsylvania*
- Employment in a small business eye center is referred*

Excellence in Scouting Scholarship
Eagle Scout, Gold Award recipients and Venturing Silver scouts can receive $500 a term for up to 10 terms for their accomplishment within scouting. Students must be accepted to Central Penn in order to qualify and provide their certificate as proof of achievement.

Scholarships for New Undergraduate Students
The following scholarships are available to Central Penn College students who meet certain requirements. If you have any questions regarding these scholarships, please contact the financial aid office for additional scholarship resources and opportunities.
TRANSFER SCHOLARSHIP
The Transfer Student Scholarship is available to students who transfer a minimum of 30 academic credits from another accredited institution. Scholarship recipients will be awarded $1,500 to be used toward their first six terms.

HACC GRADUATE STUDENT AWARD
The $500 HACC Graduate Student Award is available to new students who have graduated with an associate’s degree from HACC and are transferring to Central Penn to further their education. This award is divided over the first two terms of study at Central Penn. Official HACC transcripts must be provided with scholarship application.

THADDEUS STEVENS GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP
The $500 Thaddeus Stevens Graduate Student Scholarship is available to new students who have graduated with an associate’s degree from Thaddeus Stevens and are transferring to Central Penn to further their education. This scholarship is divided over the first two terms of study at Central Penn. Official Thaddeus Stevens transcripts must be provided with a scholarship application.

PRIVATE MATCHING SCHOLARSHIP
The Private Matching Scholarship is available to students who have been awarded an outside scholarship (scholarship funds awarded to a student through an outside agency or another source outside of Central Penn College to be used toward Central Penn College tuition). The $1000 (divided over 3 terms) Corporate & Community Partnership Employee Award is available to new students who are currently employed by one of Central Penn’s Corporate Partners. Verification of employment is requested with the award application.

ELIMINATING BOUNDARIES SCHOLARSHIP
The Eliminating Boundaries Scholarship is designed to assist students in having the ability to pursue their educational goals at Central Penn College. Central Penn will award a limited number of students a scholarship of $500 per term for up to 10 terms of your education while attending Central Penn College. This scholarship is only available to first-time Central Penn students.
- 500-700 word essay: “A Central Penn student is described as resilient. Please describe to the scholarship committee a time where you experienced a hardship in your life and how you took steps to overcome it. “
- Must have high school or college GPA of 2.8 or higher
- Must enroll as a full time/degree-seeking student
- Must be continuously enrolled
- Must maintain a 2.8 GPA or higher while at Central Penn College
- This scholarship is only offered to three students each term
HOUSING SCHOLARSHIP
The housing scholarship is at a reduced rate or one-half of the housing costs ($726 per term or 50% of your housing costs) for eight (8) consecutive terms. Student’s eight (8) terms begin with your first disbursement and failure to meet certain conditions does not extend the number of terms. Students are still responsible for utilities ($330) per term. Students may request an optional meal plan, which ranges from $484 to $1,500 per term.

The $1000 PA National Guard Appreciation Scholarship is awarded to any student using their Pennsylvania National Guard EAP Benefit for general educational use. The award will be divided over the first 4 terms of study. Will be awarded when EAPG is processed. Must be continuously enrolled.
Vision Benefits of America Opportunity Scholarship

Central Penn College offers a variety of scholarships to help aspiring dental professionals achieve their educational goals. These scholarships aim to reduce the financial burden associated with higher education, making careers in dentistry more accessible.
Charles Cohen & Rebecca Binder Dental Assistant Scholarship
Central Penn College offers the Charles Cohen & Rebecca Binder Dental Assistant Scholarship. This scholarship awards $3,000 ($1,500 per term) to deserving students in the Dental Assistant Certificate program. The scholarship helps cover tuition, housing, and other program costs.
Scholarships from the Fund shall be awarded to Central Penn College students based on the following criteria:
- Completion of application and requirements.
- Enrollment in the Dental Assistant Certificate program at Central Penn College.
- Demonstration of financial need through completion of a FAFSA
- Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0
Central Penn College Charles Cohen & Rebecca Binder scholarship
This $5,000 ($1250 per term) for dental hygienists in Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management program. Requires minimum GPA, part-time dental hygienist work, application. Prefers applicants with leadership experience and recommendation from Benco Dental.
Scholarships from the Fund shall be awarded to Central Penn College students based on the following criteria:
- Completion of application and requirements.
- Enrollment in the Central Penn College BSHM degree program.
- Demonstration of financial need through completion of a FAFSA
- Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0
- Current part-time employment as a clinical dental hygienist through their course of study while receiving the scholarship.
- Preference given to applicants that have demonstrated leadership.
Charles Cohen & Rebecca Binder EFDA Scholarship
This scholarship awards $3,000 (1500 per term) to students in the Charles Cohen and Rebecca Binder Extended Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) program to be used toward tuition, housing, and program costs. Requires minimum GPA, application, and may prefer applicants with a recommendation from Benco Dental.
Scholarships from the Fund shall be awarded to Central Penn College students based on the following criteria:
- Completion of application and requirements.
- Enrollment in the Central Penn College Charles Cohen and Rebecca Binder Extended Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) program.
- Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0
Verber Leadership in Dental Hygiene Scholarship
Awards $5,000 ($1250 per term) to dental hygienists in the Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management program to be used toward tuition, housing, and program costs for up to four terms. Requires minimum GPA, application, letter of recommendation (ideally from Verber Dental Group’s Board of Directors), continued dental hygiene work, and may prefer Verber Dental Group employees or members of the Pennsylvania Dental Hygienists’ Association.
Scholarships from the Fund shall be awarded to Central Penn College students based on the following criteria:
- Completion of application and requirements including the submission of a letter of recommendation from the Verber Dental Group’s Board of Directors.
- Enrollment in the Central Penn College BSHM degree program.
- Demonstration of financial need through completion of a FAFSA
- Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0
- Continued part or full-time employment as a clinical dental hygienist through their course of study while receiving the scholarship.
- Preference shall be given to applicants employed by Verber Dental Group and/or holding membership in the Pennsylvania Dental Hygienists’ Association.
Verber Dental Rising Knight Scholarship
Awards $3,000 ($1,500 per term) to Dental Assistant Certificate program graduates entering the Charles Cohen & Rebecca Binder EFDA program to be used toward tuition, housing, and program costs for two terms. Requires minimum GPA, application, letters of recommendation (including one from Verber Dental Group’s Board), and graduation from Central Penn’s Dental Assistant program. Prefers students with high grades in the Dental Assistant program and those employed by Verber Dental Group. Apply through Central Penn College.
- Completion of application and requirements including the submission of letters of recommendation from the Verber Dental Group’s Board of Directors and a Central Penn College Faculty Member.
- Enrollment in a Central Penn College Extended Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) program named for Charles Cohen and Rebecca Binder.
- Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0
- Graduation from the Central Penn College Dental Assistant Certificate Program
- Preference should be given to candidates demonstrating academic excellence in the Central Penn Dental Certificate Program.
- Preference should be given to applicants employed by Verber Dental Group.
Shelly Verber Dental Assistant Scholarship
Awards $3,000 ($1,500 per term) to recent Harrisburg High School graduates entering the Dental Assistant Certificate program to be used toward tuition, housing, and program costs for two terms. Requires minimum GPA, application, letters of recommendation (including one from Harrisburg High School teacher), financial need via FAFSA, and may prefer Verber Dental Group employees.
Scholarships from the Fund shall be awarded to Central Penn College students based on the following criteria:
- Completion of application and requirements including the submission of letters of recommendation from the Verber Dental Group’s Board of Directors and a Harrisburg High School Teacher.
- Enrollment in the Dental Assistant Certificate program at Central Penn College.
- Demonstrate financial need through completion of a FAFSA
- Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0
- Preference shall be given to applicants employed by Verber Dental Group.
Dr. Stephen Verber Emerge Dental Scholarship
Awards $3,000 ($1,500 per term) to Cumberland Valley High School graduates entering the Charles Cohen & Rebecca Binder EFDA program to be used toward tuition, housing, and program costs for two terms. Requires minimum GPA, application, letters of recommendation (including one from Cumberland Valley High School teacher) and may prefer applicants employed by Verber Dental Group or those who completed a dental certificate program through Emerge Education.
Scholarships from the Fund shall be awarded to Central Penn College students based on the following criteria:
- Completion of application and requirements including the submission of letters of recommendation from the Verber Dental Group’s Board of Directors and a Cumberland Valley High School Teacher.
- Enrollment in a Central Penn College Extended Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) program named for Charles Cohen and Rebecca Binder.
- Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0
- Preference shall be given to applicants employed by Verber Dental Group.
- Preference shall be given to applicants who have completed a dental certificate program through Emerge Education.
Verber Dental Treatment Coordination Scholarship
Awards $3,000 ($1,500 per term) to students in the Dental Treatment Coordination Certificate Program to be used toward tuition, housing, and program costs for two terms. Requires minimum GPA, application, letter of recommendation (from Verber Dental Group’s Board), and residency in Cumberland, Dauphin, or York County.
Scholarships from the Fund shall be awarded to Central Penn College students based on the following criteria:
- Completion of application and requirements including the submission of a letter of recommendation from the Verber Dental Group’s Board of Directors.
- Enrollment in the Central Penn College Dental Treatment Coordination Program.
- Demonstration of financial need through completion of a FAFSA
- Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0
- Resident of Cumberland, Dauphin, or York County.
Verber Family Foundation CPACTC EFDA Scholarship
Awards $3,000 ($1,500 per term) to Cumberland Perry Area Career and Technical Center graduates entering the Charles Cohen & Rebecca Binder EFDA program. Can be used toward tuition, housing, and program costs for up to two terms. Requires minimum GPA, application, letter of recommendation from the Verber Family Foundation, and completion of the Dental Program at Cumberland Perry Area Career and Technical Center (CPACTC).
Scholarships from the Fund shall be awarded to Central Penn College students based on the following criteria:
- Provide Letters of Recommendation from a representative of the Verber Family Foundation
- Enrollment in a Central Penn College Extended Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) program named for Charles Cohen and Rebecca Binder.
- Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0
- Graduation from the Cumberland Perry Area Career and Technical Center Dental Program
Verber Family Foundation Dental Scholarship Fund
Awards $1,000 ($500 per term) to students enrolled in any dental program at Central Penn College. To be used toward tuition, housing, and program costs for two terms. Requires minimum GPA, application, and letter of recommendation from the Verber Family Foundation. Up to two scholarships awarded per year.
Scholarships from the Fund shall be awarded to Central Penn College students based on the following criteria:
- Completion of application and requirements including the submission of a letter of recommendation from a representative of the Verber Family Foundation.
- Demonstration of financial need through completion of a FAFSA
- Enrollment in a dental program class at Central Penn College
- Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0
Shelly Verber Dental Treatment Coordination Scholarship Fund
Awards $2,000 ($1,000 per term) to students in the Dental Treatment Coordination Certificate Program to be used towards tuition, housing, and program costs for two terms. Requires minimum GPA, application, and letter of recommendation from the Verber Family Foundation.
Scholarships from the Fund shall be awarded to Central Penn College students based on the following criteria:
- Completion of application and requirements including the submission of a letter of recommendation from a representative of the Verber Family Foundation.
- Enrollment in the Dental Treatment Coordination Program at Central Penn College.
- Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0
Scholarships for Current Central Penn Students
Scholarships for current Central Penn students are provided through the Central Penn College Education Foundation.
The Central Penn College Education Foundation strives to lessen the financial challenges of worthy students who wish to attend Central Penn College by awarding scholarships to those individuals who have demonstrated scholastic achievement and participation in community service or other extracurricular activities. The Foundation believes that investing in the lives of young people is an investment in life itself.
Scholarship award amounts vary from $500 – $2,000.
To apply for scholarships, all students must meet the following criteria:
- Applicants must possess a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.0.*
- Applicants must be positive role models at Central Penn and in their communities.*
- Applicants must be enrolled at Central Penn College.*
- Applicants must be degree seeking.*
- *If selected, information WILL be verified and scholarship recipients are REQUIRED to submit a note of appreciation to the Education Foundation.

The Donald B. & Dorothy L. Stabler Scholarship is awarded to multiple student scholarships in amounts ranging from $1,000 to $2,000.
- Applicants must possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Applicants must make a commitment to give back to their alma mater through scholarships.
- Applicants must exhibit strong leadership and motivation.

The William and Karen Gladstone Fund awards one student $4,000 ($1,000 per academic term).
- Applicants possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Applicants must be entering the final year of coursework at Central Penn.
- Applicants must be highly motivated, and have strong oral and written communication skills and a professional demeanor.
- Submit a completed application which includes a minimum 500 word college level essay.
- Submit a letter of recommendation from a Central Penn College faculty member.
BAILEY FOUNDATION
The Bailey Foundation provides both high school seniors and college-level scholarships. The application process is open once a year. $5000 is awarded to one student who attends Central Penn as a current student during each application process.

This award was established to assist HACC graduates with their continuing education at Central Penn College.
- Students with unmet financial needs.
- Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.5.

The Rotary Club of York Scholarships
$40,000 in scholarships available to York County students to assist with furthering their education at college, university, technical or trade school.
- Non-Traditional Student Scholarship – one-time $3,000 scholarship – York County students enrolled later in life in technical or trade school, college or university
- “Service Above Self” Scholarship – two-year $2,500 scholarship – high academic achievement and community service for college junior
- Bush Scholarship – four-year $1,100 scholarship – high academic achievement
- Mangold Scholarship – four-year $1,250 scholarship – high academic achievement
- Kranich Scholarship – one-year $2,000 scholarship – any area of study
HOUSING SCHOLARSHIP
The College is pleased to announce an expanded Housing Scholarship opportunity for both current and future students! Eligible students will be able to apply for a scholarship that covers up to two years or eight consecutive terms of on-campus room costs. Although students are still responsible for utilities, this scholarship provides up to $11,616 of support to make learning AND living at Central Penn College more affordable. As an exciting addition, eligible students up to the age of 30 who are enrolled part-time or in credit-bearing diploma or certificate programs now can apply for a partial housing scholarship that covers up to $5,808 or half of on-campus room costs, excluding utilities, for eight consecutive terms.
Students may reapply and receive an additional two years of the housing scholarship, a $23,200 value over four years!
