All Spring Classes to Begin Online

April 6 – May 1

Dear Students, 

Central Penn College has decided to conduct all classes online for the first four weeks of the spring term, which begins Monday, April 6. This means that all classes, including in-person classes, will be taught via online instruction for the entire month of April.

Central Penn College continues to follow the federal and state guidelines regarding social distancing in response to COVID–19.

The Trump Administration announced earlier this week that it has extended social distancing guidelines for all businesses, organizations and gatherings until April 30. 

As a result, the new move-in date for residential students is scheduled for Sunday, May 3. On-ground classes will return to the Summerdale campus and Lancaster Center beginning on Monday, May 4.

As you know, the situation involving the COVID-19 remains fluid. We will continue to provide updates and further information, as we get closer to reopening the campus.

For new and current residential students, you will receive additional communication from the Director of Residence Life as the move-in date approaches.

A Word about Online Classes 

Central Penn College has been offering online classes since 2004. We were one of the first colleges in this area to adapt to this method of instruction. In fact, 70% of our students take at least one online class every term. 

Online instruction is something we have been doing for more than 15 years. It’s something we know… it’s something we’re good at… and it’s something we will continue to do. 

Stay Connected 

During this time of social distancing, I encourage you to stay connected with family and friends. Pick up the phone and call a loved one. Text, email or message a friend or family member you haven’t seen in a while. These little acts of kindness matter a great deal. 

Remember, we’re Central Penn. We’re tough. We’re resilient. And we will get through this.
