Central Penn College’s Marketing Program Ranked #1 in Pennsylvania

Central Penn College was recognized as having the #1 Marketing Associate Degree program in Pennsylvania, according to BusinessDegreeCentral.com.  

“We are honored to receive this award,” says Dr. Cassandra Hillegass, who teaches marketing at the college. She has more than 19 years’ experience in the insurance and corporate training industries. “Marketing is a cornerstone of our business curriculum, and in today’s digital world, marketing majors are highly sought after by employers.” 

In addition to an associate degree in Marketing, the college offers a Business Administration bachelor’s degree program with a concentration in Marketing. Students also can pursue four other concentrations, while still gaining a deep background in Marketing. Those other concentrations include: 

• Banking & Finance 
• Healthcare Administration 
• Human Resource Management 
• Management 

“Business Administration students in these concentrations have the flexibility to take up to five additional Marketing courses,” says Ben Lipschutz, dean of professional studies at the Summerdale-based institution. “Successful business leaders require marketing expertise, and we want all of our business students to be immersed in this critical discipline.” 

More than 135 years ago, Central Penn College was founded as a business school in downtown Harrisburg. While the college has grown, moved to Summerdale and added other majors in the intervening years, business––along with its related disciplines––is still the college’s largest and most popular program. 

“Our business roots run deep, and this award is a testament to the real-world, career-focused education that our business students receive at the college,” says Lipschutz, who has more than 10 years’ management experience outside of higher education. He also is a consultant and business owner. 

“More than 95% of our business faculty either currently work, or have previously worked, in their field,” says the Enola resident. “That type of hands-on expertise helped us earn this #1 ranking.”
