Central Penn’s new Human Resource Management certificate starts in April
Central Penn College continues to roll out short-term certificate programs––both credit-based and non-credit––that enable students to gain valuable, skills-specific knowledge. The newest program is the 9-month, 18-credit, Human Resource Management certificate, which launches in April, the beginning of the college’s spring term.
“HR professionals are a key component of organizational success,” said Ben Lipschutz, Dean, School of Business and Professional Studies. “The Human Resource Management certificate will enable students to take the next step in their professional career.”
Central Penn College operates on an accelerated schedule of quarterly, 11-week terms. Taking two courses a term, students can complete the HR Management certificate––offered in a fully online format––in just three terms over the course of nine months.
In the past year, the college has launched a half-dozen certificate programs––including Medical Billing & Coding, Personal Training and Entrepreneurship––with another 10 planned to debut this year.
“Our short-term certificate programs––combined with our accelerated terms––are built for today’s adult learners who want a big educational impact in a short amount of time,” said Dr. Krista Wolfe, vice president of academic affairs and provost.
A Bridge to a Better Future
“These certificate programs not only exist as stand-alone programs,” said Wolfe. “But nearly all of them also serve as a ladder or a bridge to a related degree program.”
For example, the credits earned from the HR Management certificate can be applied to a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, if students decide to continue on in the future.
