Central Penn College has announced a new campaign––Opportunity Is The Point ––to engage our students, alumni and fans in supporting the student athletes of #KnightNation.
The first phase of the campaign launched today. The goal is to raise $2,200 to support athletic training equipment for the 40 athletes of the women’s and men’s basketball teams at Central Penn College.
Fans of CPC #KnightNation are encouraged to help Central Penn kick off our campaign strong with a $5 contribution at https://givebutter.com/CPCpoint or by texting the word POINT to 202-858-1233.
“This campaign is about building athletic programs that provide opportunities to compete, showcase talents and develop abilities on and off the court,” said Michael Fedor, vice president of advancement and strategic initiatives. “We are excited to involve our students, alumni and fans in this season’s efforts especially after the 2020-2021 season was shut down due to COVID-19.”
The 2021-2022 USCAA basketball season tips off for the Knights on Nov. 3, with the men’s team competing at Penn State Schuylkill at 8 p.m. The women’s team will take the court on Saturday, Nov. 6, at Penn State Brandywine.
The campaign’s first phase is designed to provide athletic training gear to each and every athlete who makes the team, giving them essential tools to train and prepare adequately while also building school spirit.
“There is no doubt in my mind that we’ll exceed this first goal with the support of our amazing alumni, fans and families,” said athletic director Kasey Hicks. “The key is to chip in now because this campaign for our basketball programs will end on Nov. 2.”
