Teaching Philosophy
My philosophy is to inspire students to want to learn by providing interesting, challenging, and fair learning opportunities. My goal is to ensure that the courses I teach contribute to the ultimate success of my students during their educational journey and beyond. Key to this approach is providing an interactive learning environment, where students are both challenged and supported. While students must understand the content of a course, developing the ability to apply the knowledge acquired is where true value is derived. When presenting material, I strive to clearly articulate the concepts and then offer examples so students see how the concepts can be applied. To that end, I make every effort to utilize my business experience to assist students with the practical application of concepts learned in the course. In addition, I am constantly looking for new and better ways to present and discuss material, searching for relevant, real-world examples to which students can relate, and making use of the most current technology for delivering content and communicating with students.
