Central Penn College Announces Development Plans for Summerdale Property 

Central Penn College (CPC), a leader in Central Pennsylvania business education since 1881, is embarking on an exciting new chapter. As it continually evolves program offerings and facilities, the college is partnering with RSR Realtors to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) to develop under-utilized land on and adjacent to its Summerdale campus. This project reflects the college’s deep commitment to reinvesting in the community, fostering local business growth, and further solidifying its roots in Summerdale. 

Revitalizing Underutilized Space for a Vibrant Community Hub 

“The project prioritizes the needs of the greater Summerdale community, including East Pennsboro Township, the Harrisburg Metropolitan Area, and Central Pennsylvania as a whole,” said Linda Fedrizzi-Williams, President of Central Penn College. “We envision a vibrant hub emerging from these underutilized spaces, serving not just our student population but also the growing local community.” 

Collaboration is Key: Engaging Local Businesses and Residents 

Central Penn College has a long history of successful partnerships with local businesses. This project seeks to leverage that expertise by creating opportunities for local companies to thrive. Potential partners could include medical facilities aligning with the college’s dedication to the healthcare professions, or innovative businesses seeking to engage the student body. 

“The focus lies on repurposing our property in a way that fosters engagement,” Fedrizzi-Williams continued. “Imagine retail spaces featuring local businesses alongside green spaces for recreation and community events.”
