Central Penn College Announces New Men’s Soccer Coach, Chris Hartman

Central Penn College is pleased to announce that men’s assistant soccer coach Chris Hartman is taking the reins as head coach.
Under Hartman’s guidance as assistant coach these past two seasons, the Knights soccer program made impressive strides, as his sharp in-game analysis, insightful player feedback, and expertise in the club soccer scene fueled the team’s rapid development.
Last year, the team had an unprecedented season, qualifying for nationals for the first time ever in the Eastern States Athletic Conference.
Before Central Penn, Hartman was an assistant director at a local club and an assistant women’s soccer coach at Lebanon Valley College. Hartman also spent 12 years as an assistant coach for the men’s soccer program at Dickinson College. Hartman helped the Dickinson team qualify for the Centennial Conference Tournament every year since 2007, including a historic first title in 2011. His work with the team contributed to seven NCAA Tournament appearances, as well as hosting games in 2012 and 2013.
Hartman holds a D license from US Soccer and has earned various other certifications from the United Soccer Coaches Association and LaLiga. He also spent four years on the Eastern Pennsylvania Olympic Development coaching staff.
Hartman also has a strong background in youth and club soccer, having worked with numerous camps and youth programs over the years.
A 1999 graduate of Lebanon Valley College with a Bachelor of Arts in History, Hartman was a standout member of the men’s soccer team, leading his fellow student-athletes as team captain in his senior year.
“With Chris’s rich coaching background, leadership abilities, and deep understanding of the game, as both a player and a coach, we expect great things of Coach Hartman and this talented team! He is poised to lead the men’s soccer team into a very successful future,” Central Penn College’s Athletic Director Kasey Hicks said.
