Central Penn College will move to remote learning after Thanksgiving break
Dear Students,
Our priority as an institution is to safeguard the health and wellness of our campus community.
As you may know, Cumberland County is currently seeing substantial transmission of COVID-19. This is marked by an incidence rate of more than 100 cases/100,000 residents per week. Last week, Cumberland County had an incidence rate of 185 incidence/100,000 residents, which was more than double the previous week’s rate. Lancaster’s rate of incidence was 204 cases/100,000.
Remote Learning
While we have been very fortunate at Central Penn College to have limited exposure to COVID-19, we are making the decision to move to remote learning after the Thanksgiving break through the end of the term. The only exception will be for Health Sciences students who will receive follow-up communication from their faculty members.
Residential students will have the option to remain on campus. Details will follow in the next few days.
With COVID cases skyrocketing in this area and throughout the country, we feel moving to remote instruction for the last three weeks of the Fall term is in the best interest of the entire campus community.
Continue to Use the Screening Form
For those students who remain on campus after the break, continue to fill out the screening form on the App, scan QR codes when entering buildings and classrooms, and report any symptoms via the screening form.
Overview
- After Thanksgiving Break – We will be providing remote education beginning after the Thanksgiving break through the end of the Fall term, with the exception of Health Sciences courses. This timeline is from Dec. 1 – Dec. 18, 2020.
