Central Penn’s Dr. Krista Wolfe Elected to Leadership Role on Multi-State Physical Therapy Board

Dr. Krista Wolfe, Vice President of Academic Affairs and Provost at Central Penn College, has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors for the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT). Dr. Wolfe was selected as the Region 3 Director during the organization’s annual meeting held in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The FSBPT is an important organization representing 53 jurisdictions across the United States, playing a critical role in regulating the practice of physical therapy to protect the public.

In her new position, Dr. Wolfe will play a pivotal role in guiding the FSBPT’s strategic initiatives, ensuring the federation’s operations align with its mission of public protection and advancing the physical therapy profession. As Region 3 Director, she will oversee a range of responsibilities, including governance, strategic planning, financial oversight, and stakeholder engagement.

“I am truly honored and excited for the opportunity to serve in the Director 3 role with FSBPT,” said Dr. Wolfe. “This position represents a unique chance to contribute to the important mission of public protection and the advancement of our profession. I am eager to collaborate with my fellow board members, member jurisdictions, and stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives that support the continued growth and excellence of physical therapy regulation.”

Dr. Wolfe’s extensive background in physical therapy and higher education makes her an invaluable addition to the FSBPT Board. She has been a dedicated member of the Pennsylvania State Board of Physical Therapists since 2021, where she serves as the voting delegate. She has also contributed significantly to the FSBPT, having been a member of its Exam Development Committee, co-chair of the committee for three years, and currently serving on the Finance Committee.

Since joining Central Penn College in 2006, Dr. Wolfe has held multiple key positions, including Director of the Physical Therapist Assistant program, Dean of Nursing and Health Sciences, and Dean of Applied Sciences. In May 2020, she was appointed as the Vice President and Provost of Central Penn College, where she now provides strategic leadership for all academic programs and oversees the Office of Academic Affairs.

Dr. Wolfe holds a B.S. in Health Science/Athletic Training and a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Slippery Rock University. She also earned a postgraduate certificate in healthcare education from Washburn University. In addition to her leadership role at Central Penn College, Dr. Wolfe continues to practice as a clinician at Inspired Physical Therapy in Mechanicsburg, PA.

Her commitment to the profession extends beyond the classroom and clinic, as she also serves on the PA Department of Health’s Access to Care Committee and the COVID-19 Health Equity Response Team. Dr. Wolfe is deeply committed to innovation, integrity, and accountability within both her educational and professional endeavors.

“We’re incredibly proud of Dr. Wolfe’s accomplishments,” said Dr. Linda Fedrizzi-Williams, President of Central Penn College. “Her election to the FSBPT Board of Directors is a testament to her leadership and dedication to advancing the field of physical therapy.”

Dr. Wolfe resides in the Carlisle area with her husband and son. Her election to the FSBPT Board of Directors is just the latest chapter in a career marked by leadership, passion, and a steadfast commitment to the physical therapy profession.
