March is Women’s History Month, a time to celebrate the strength, resilience, and achievements of women throughout history. At Central Penn College, we don’t just celebrate women for one month—we champion them all year long.

In 2023, we were honored to receive an “Empowering Women” Award from the Central Penn Business Journal, recognizing our ongoing commitment to educating and uplifting women in their personal and professional lives. That dedication goes all the way back to our founding in 1881, a time when women were still fighting for expanded rights as citizens, employees, and leaders. Today, we continue that legacy by fostering a community where women thrive—academically, athletically, and professionally.

Women Leading the Way at Central Penn

Our college is proud to have women at the forefront of leadership. Most of our cabinet members are women, including our President, Provost, and Dean of Academic Affairs. Women also lead key areas such as Human Resources, the Central Penn College Foundation, and several academic programs.

Beyond leadership, women make up approximately 70 percent of our student body. That means future female leaders, innovators, and professionals are learning from accomplished women faculty who serve as both educators and mentors.

Our commitment to empowering women extends beyond the classroom and into athletics. From our powerhouse basketball and soccer teams to the many student organizations led by women, Central Penn College is a place where female students can lead, compete, and inspire others.

We also give back to the community through programs like Big Brothers Big Sisters’ Beyond School Walls, where students help mentor and guide young women and men as they prepare for their futures.
