Knights baseball teams up with Senators
The Central Penn Knights baseball team joined forces with the Harrisburg Senators Saturday to build the batting and fielding skills of children ages six through 13 at City Island’s FNB Field.
About 220 children attended the Saturday morning clinic to learn from the ESAC champions Central Penn players and coaches.
This was Central Penn baseball team’s second year running the clinic.
Central Penn baseball Head Coach Bob Stern said it’s always great to volunteer and give back to the community.
He said working the clinic is also a wonderful time to bring his team together one final time before summer. Stern said soon teammates will “scatter to their hometowns.” This free clinic unites them for one last day to share their love of baseball with the community.
Stern’s players clearly enjoyed interacting with kids from the community. Every child who attended the free clinic received a free voucher for Sunday night’s Senators game and a brand new wiffleball and bat.
